Armenian Financiers Association
On August 22, 2021, at the proposal of Soghomon Mirzoyan, a group of specialists from the financial sector gathered in an informal environment to discuss the idea of forming a professional structure.
Mr. Mirzoyan presented that he believes the time has ripened in Armenia to unite financiers in one place, expand professional discussions, and create a specialized structure aimed at raising financial literacy among the public and within organizations operating in various sectors. For this purpose, he considers it extremely important that financiers active in different fields centralize their professional potential on a single platform.
Then, Mr. Mirzoyan presented the charter drafted by him for the purpose of creating the "Association of Financiers of Armenia" NGO, mainly touching upon the charter goals and membership conditions.
The attendees also expressed positive views regarding the idea presented by Mr. Mirzoyan, spoke about the importance and necessity of creating such a structure, while also voicing standpoints and opinions regarding the draft document.
The informal discussion provided an opportunity to engage in a more relaxed and non-binding healthy debate. At the end, at Soghomon's suggestion, all the attendees wrote on small pieces of paper how each of them imagined the Association 5 years later-how it was possible to form and establish it, or what kind of launch and development it experienced. They placed those papers inside a wine bottle, sealed it shut with paper, and wrote the opening date on it: 22.08.2026, agreeing to gather again on that day to open and read the 5-year journey of the Association through everyone's visions.
