THE ASSOCIATION ORGANIZED TWO PANEL DISCUSSIONS IN THE CITY OF GYUMRI

On September 20, 2026, the Association of Financiers of Armenia organized two parallel panel discussions in Gyumri. The purpose of organizing such events was to present the peculiarities of financial management to organizations operating in the Shirak region, as well as to identify and discuss issues of concern to financiers and accountants.

Soghomon Mirzoyan, President of the Association, delivered the opening remarks. He congratulated all attendees on the formation of the Association's Gyumri branch, assuring them that this marked the official launch of the Association's activities in the Shirak region, and that upcoming programs would not be long in coming.

Gharib Harutyunyan, the Head of the Association's Gyumri branch, also gave an opening speech. He highlighted the importance of the Association's presence in the Shirak region, noting that the financial management models already being implemented in Yerevan still lack a high level of awareness in the regions, an area where the Association's role will be significant.

The target audience for the first panel discussion consisted of financiers and accountants, and the objective was to familiarize specialists from the Shirak region with industry-specific features. During the panel discussion, the speakers addressed the separation of functions between an organization's financier and accountant, the problems frequently encountered by financiers in practice, the introduction of modern financial management methods, the necessity of IT solutions within them, and the importance of regular training programs for financiers.

The target audience for the second panel discussion comprised entrepreneurs and organization managers. The main purpose of the discussion was to present the importance of financially literate management, long-term and short-term planning, discuss problems often faced by founders, examine founder (manager)-financier relationships, and outline the necessity of financial management knowledge for founders and CEOs.

Both discussions took place in a highly interactive atmosphere; attendees asked questions to the speakers and shared their views and observations.

In his closing remarks, the President of the Association summarized that the work toward introducing effective financial management processes in Gyumri will continue, and similar projects will be extended to other cities as well.
